Road Trip...

Grandpa and the kids playing

Today we decided to go to Brigham to see grandma and grandpa, we needed to get out of the house, so Nathaniel, Caleb and I went on a little road trip. (Granted it was only a thirty five minute one. ) It has been a few weeks since we have seen grandma and grandpa, they have been busy helping Grandpa Calvin and they went to Virginia to visit Amy, Munich, Chantel, Adam and the kids. Nathaniel begged me to go, and when we told Caleb we were going, he started jumping up and down saying "Mampa, and Maama, Mampa, and Maama" that is his way of saying grandpa and grandma. It was so nice to see some new scenery, Nathaniel was happy because he would be able to play with the neighbor kids, the minute we got to their house the girls next door came knocking and wanting to play with Nathaniel, he beamed from ear to ear, he had a good time playing next door jumping on the trampoline swinging and riding bikes. It is kinda funnywhen we go their he is always playing with the girls and he enjoys having something to do.

Caleb was so cute when we walked in the door he went straight into the extra room and got out the toys, it is funny I didn't even know where the toys were. He took the toys to grandpa and wanted to him to play. He was so happy to see grandma and grandpa, he sure loves to spend time with them. . He is going to be grandpa and grandma's little shadow, he loves to learn and watch how to do new things. We had a very good time, poor Grandma looks so tired, she is still not feeling so well, we hope that you feel better soon. Thanks for the dinner and just visiting with us, you made my day, We love you both so very much.

Outside time.. Loving the weather..

Today our neighbors came over and we played out side, it was such a nice day today, compaired to yesterday's two inches of snow! This weather has got to decide if it is going to be cold or warm, I prefer a bit warmer! Caleb loves to slide and play on the swings, he has also found that jumping on the trampoline is much better than jumping on the ground :) Nathaniel decided to show Caleb how to go down the slide head first, isn't it nice to have a big brother! Nathaniel actually wants to play out in the back yard, now that he isn't just playing alone, so I believe that we will be spending a lot of time out side now, I am excited to be outside and start working on the yard, this year I am going to have all of my grass green and growing, it seems like it has taken forever, but like my dad says "good things come to those who wait" or in my case good things come to those who don't give up, and it helps to have a little bit of a green thumb.

When we were outside tonight we found an earthworm slimming around, Caleb thought that it was so cool, the video clip shows him picking up the worm, when he picked it up he wasn't sure that he liked how it felt, so he threw it as fast as he picked it up, it was funny, then he just sat there and watched it as the worm decided to inch it's way into the ground. Nathaniel on the other hand was determined that he was going to make it his "pet" he wanted to go and get a jar, and make it a little home away from home, but I tried to explain to him that it would probably die if he did that, so he finally agreed to live it outside. My boys are so much fun, they always are doing something to make me laugh, each day they teach me something new.

Good bye...

Today has been an interesting day for me to say the lest. Let me back up a little, about a week ago Evelyn, one of my little hair ladies, passed away, it was very sad to hear. Three months ago when we were doing her hair she started having a very difficult time breathing, so after much coaxing we called 911 and the ambulance came and took her to the hospital, she was having congestive heart failure, after spending a couple days in the hospital, her daughter was able to take her to her home to help her. It was really hard to see her lose her independence, she has lived on her own up until three months ago, she was 86 years old. I loved having her come each week to get her hair done, she always knew how to make me laugh, she was one of those people that anyone could get along with. Each week she would bring me a BIG chocolate bar (one of my weaknesses.) and it was just fun to visit with her. She was just like a grandma to me. Last week on Tuesday I did her hair and she wasn't feeling to well, on Saturday morning her daughter called me and told me that she passed away that morning, I cried and cried, (me being a little selfish) I wasn't ready to see her go, my Thursday's won't be the same, she will be missed!
Yesterday afternoon I received a phone call and it was Evelyn's daughter, she asked if I would mind doing her hair for her? Of course I wouldn't mind doing her hair, but I have to admit that I was a little apprehensive, I have never done this before. Last night I didn't sleep well, I continued to think about what it was going to be like doing her hair. Early this morning I went to the mortuary to do her hair, they took me into a large room, and at one end of the room Evelyn was lying on a stretcher covered with a sheet, from a distance she looked like she was just resting, as I came closer to her (I felt more nervous then I thought ) I looked at her and felt a reassuring peace that everything was going to be okay, I began to do her hair and found myself talking to her, and telling her things that had been going on the past week, it felt as if she was right there talking back to me. It was a good experience for me, it gave me a different perspective on death, and not just fear of death. I have always believed that there is a life after death and this has reassured me that it is true, and that when someone passes away it isn't the end, there life goes on and they are safe, as I felt this morning that reassuring peace that she was okay.
Evelyn I just wanted to tell you that I Love you and I will miss you so very much, you added a sparkle to my life and I will miss seeing you each week.

Happy Easter....

Saturday we went to our annual family Easter Party, we had a lot of fun, there was an Easter Egg Hunt at the park, and a fabulous dinner at David and Paula's home, thanks for a wonderful day..
Caleb and Nathaniel sliding down this huge slide. Caleb was fearless he climbed this slide and went down by his self.. Such a monkey boy, when I look at him and say no, he looks at me and his response is "me monkey" and smiles..

Having fun...SPRING FEVER!!

Nathaniel and Caleb having fun outside tonight, it was a little chilly but it was nice enough to be out for a little while. Caleb absolutely loves being outside, he would probably stay out there all day long if he could, he just figured out how to climb up the slide, and slide down, he did it all on his own, he has no fear, I am in trouble. :) Nathaniel actually wants to go out in the back yard and play now, maybe because he has someone to play with. This spring we are going to be living out doors, it will be a pleasant change, from being stuck inside for the past few months! Spring Fever has definitely hit!!

Caleb couldn't be left off the trampoline, he and Nathaniel took turns jumping, lots of fun things to do outside!

We got new swings for the swing set, Nathaniel was very happy that he could sit on the swing with out falling through the seat! We also got a swing for Caleb, funny thing is he won't let me put him in it, he just wants to sit on all the big toys..

SICK OF BEING SICK!

Nathaniel has been sick for a couple weeks, he gets a small cold and it turns into bad, bad asthma cough, so he has been miserable for awhile. I was hoping that the rest of us would be out of the woods, because we hadn't gotten sick yet! Well I was to quick to think that, on Friday Caleb got really sick and was having a very hard time breathing, so we ended up taking him to the doctor that evening, the doctor gave him a shot to help his breathing, and some medicine for the ear infection he has. That night I was lucky enough to go to bed with a very very sore throat, and my chest was so tight. Saturday morning I woke up without a voice and both my boys were very miserable. The past two days we have been sleeping, sleeping and did I mention sleeping, this is the worst cold I have had in a very long time! Okay enough complaining! I am going to think positive, and I am going to be better tomorrow!!!
